“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God.”
The above Scripture verse is the centerpiece for my theological writings. While preparing myself for a particular Confession many years ago, I was reading my Greek-English New Testament. I happened to come across the above Ephesians reference and the passage hit me like a ton of bricks. I sat there in the simplicity of the present moment as things began to make sense. A lot of the work that I had done the years prior to this moment all came together and it was as if I now had a “charter” for my life and work.
Ever since the above moment, this passage has been a guiding light in my life. There have been ups and downs with periods where it seems all but forgotten, but the fundamental thread has always been present. I desire to help people understand the length, breadth, height and depth of the Christian message, but above all to know the love of Christ and receive strength through these things. It is to this end that I have devoted my life and writings, of which this web site is now a part.
