I have learned early this morning of the death of Dr. Joaquín Navarro Valls from cancer. John Allen has a nice tribute to him here and Catholic News Service has an article as well.

I will remember the courtesy of Dr. Navarro Valls during the research for my book On the Third Part of the Secret of Fátima. He answered a question or two that I had concerning the events of the year 2000. He even offered to meet with me in Rome if I was able to get there. Sadly, I was unable to do so before his passing.

Dr. Navarro Valls’ death means that there are only a handful of people left alive from those famous events of the year 2000 (and thereafter). Most are 80+ years of age.

Requiem aeternam, dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis!
