Hello Everyone! While responding to a reader I happened to come across a couple of articles in Portuguese on Fátima that caught my attention.
The first article is entitled: “Sister Lúcia: the Pastoress, the ‘Saint’ and the Normal Woman who Wrote Many Letters” (Irmã Lúcia: A pastora, a “santa” e a mulher normal que escrevia muitas cartas).
The second article is entitled: “Fátima: First critical edition of the «Memoirs» of Sr. Lúcia brings news to readers” (Fátima: Primeira edição crítica das «Memórias» da irmã Lúcia traz novidades aos leitores).
For that second article, I was in attendance when the editor, Dr. Cristina Sobral, presented the text at the 24th Mariological Congress last year. She even answered a question that I had posed (all were submitted anonymously). The present article includes some details that are of interest to scholars, and, perhaps, for the interested layman.
The first article has some truly interesting information about the last years of Sr. Lúcia from the perspective of one of the nuns who was there with her. Both articles can be read fairly through the “translate” feature in Google Chrome. Please do check them out!
